As I searching thru the kitchen, I can only find potatoes in the kitchen!
So, created something to kill my potato chips drive as well as do some pipping practice~
Here is my potato rings (not chips anymore)...
Looks yummy and taste yummy~ And... it is healthy as there are no preservatives, artificial flavoring nor fried.
The ingredients are not more than five, enjoy~
1. Boil the peeled potatoes until they are soft (really soft), watch out for the froth forming up during the boiling, tall pan is recommended.
2. Then, remove the water from the potatoes, try to make it as dry as possible, then grind them thru a mouli to make it looks like the mash potatoes.
3. Add in butter, the amount I used was ~6% of potato`s weight (300g of potatoes with 20g of butter), and an egg yolk. Gotta mix the mixture as soon as the egg yolk is in because the hot potato might cook it.
4. Final, put some seasoning like salt to your liking, and I add some chopped parsley to make it looks nicer. Mix well, put it in pipping bag, and arrange into the shape that you like.
5. Bake in oven at 110C, fan mode till golden brown. I used a low temperature because I wanted to achieve the really inside-out crispy potato rings. If you want it soft inside while crispy outside, higher temp could be used.
