As pear getting cheaper in the market, and some extra pocket money. So, decided to go with this dessert, which is my 1st attempt with alcohol....... ^^ Wooowoo
1pc pear
100ml red wine
60g sugar
1 cloves
10ml lemon juice
1stalk cinnamon
150ml water
I understand that there are some people do not use water in this recipe, however I am allergy to alcohol, so substitute a portion of the red wine with water. So, if you prefer stronger wine flavour with this dessert, you may use red wine only.
Let's get started
1. Peel the peel and remove the core.
2. Put all ingredients in the pot and submerge the pear in the pot and then cover with a cartouche.
3. Bring to boil and pouch gently. remember to change side for the red wine to poach the pear beautifully.
4. Test the pear doneness with fork, it is ready if the folk could poke in and out easily.
5. Cool in the syrup and ready to be served~ itadakimasu~
This was my 1st time to cook something with red wine and buy red wine, then realized that all red wine contains preservative E220 even the organic red wine. So, please don't over drink, especially those with asthma. Take care always. ^^
